GREATEST HITS CD.........IS IT TRUE?

I heard Enrique on John Jay and Rich mentioning about the Greatest Hits CD.

I wonder if the same is true.......Enrqiue seems to be joking so you never know if its true.

And if its true wonder why the same has not been mentioned in the News Section of this Site???

BTW - Incase if they release the Greatest Hits CD I would love to have a DVD of the Enrique concert either the one they did on MSN or the present one that he is doing in the US.

As far as i know it's true. I don't think E would joke about that, he only jokes about the unimportant stuff. I doubt it'll be in the news section until the release date etc is finalised. I suppose we've just got to wait and see. I hope he puts a dvd with it too like he did with the Spanish GH. Or i at least hope they do release a concert dvd at some point. It would be a great if one was released in time for Xmas, it would sell like hotcakes. But like i said, we have to wait and see :)

English Greatest Hits

If you listen closely to the Johnjay and Rich call he says it'll be out around November/December and as Chaz said he doesn't normaly joke about important things. (Kinda interesting that always jokes about his relationsip though, isn't it?)

I guess it's a good possibilty they'd put a DVD on there but I'm thinking that it'd be a few music videos and some short bio like the one that came with 95/08 and Quizas.

I can't see them releasing a concert DVD independently either. They've said time again that they don't think it's financialy feasible even back in the Escape days. Bit silly considering that smaller artists than Enrique have released them. Not long ago I suggested putting the Belfast Concert on a DVD with the Insomniac re-release. Give the fans a real incentive to buy the album again they'd never do anything like that. For them it's all about making as much money as they can while spending as little as possible. That's why they're releasing Greatest Hits packages anyway...although it should be called something like "Best Of Enrique" as after "Bailamos", "Hero" and "Escape" it gets kinda murky on English hits.

Well he has many songs in English besides Bailamos, Hero and Escape and he should include these which have done good or should i say extremely well in certain cities (UK , Europe and Asia).

And CJ agree with you that we should have a DVD of the concert. The 95/08 DVD was not up to my expectation they just had a few clips of the concert..........I would either love to have the Belfast concert or the upcoming tour in the US in Sept..I agree the Belfast is an old concert but I want to see E performing to those songs Live.........

As far as Insomniac re-release I think they did a great job with the "Insomniac - collector's Edition" by adding all the videos and the remixes. I only thought they would add CYHM and sell the CD but am happy we got something better.

Hi Iona do you know where we can get hold of the Insomniac - Collectors edition? I've got the French Insomniac but i didn't know anything about the collectors edition :)

So in between Isle of MTV concerts, what has Enrique Iglesias been up to? His album Insomniac, released last June, has achieved expected results, and unexpected hits that have kept him energised. (His current hit single Tired Of Being Sorry has had massive success across Europe and is number one in France for the ninth week running.)

Next in line is a greatest hits album in autumn - in English this time, following the recent release of the Spanish hits. "It's easier to write two new tracks than 10," he jokes. What's for sure is that he has no intention of putting anything out there that doesn't really convince him 100 per cent.

Thirteen years into his career, listing songs such as Rhythm Divine, Be With You and Hero and selling 40 million albums in little over a decade, Enrique Iglesias still feels he can write better songs. And that's his driving force. "I'm always in search of that perfect song - although there's no such thing really."

Until yesterday, he hadn't yet decided which of his vast repertoire he would be singing this evening. So that's going to be a surprise. "I'm going to go and choose the set list now," he says.

"Hopefully, they'll be mine," he adds with a straight face, and you almost miss the joke.

Greatest Hits

Diana, I did miss out "Be With You". I often find that "Be With You" is fondly remembered by people on music message boards that regard it as Enrique's finest hour but it doesn't seem to register with the general public like the three songs I listed. I'd even argue "Rhythm Divine" stands out more even though if it wasn't nearly as succesful.

Of course quite a lot of Enrique's English singles have reached a certain level of success and he probably deserves a Greatest Hits more than some singers who have the audacity to release one after only two albums. I remember a while ago you suggested Enrique would be better off at Sony to which I replied that all they do is fleece fans of their latin roster for money but it seems that's exactly what Universal are now doing with Enrique. At least if he were on Sony we;d have gotten more than a few concert DVDs by now.

Chaz, I don't know how you interpret my posts but I don't think I give the impression of being an "insider", someone connected with Enrique's management wouldn't slate them as badly as I do. If anything I think I come off an very opionated fan.

I have been a fan for a long time and during my time supporting Enrique like many other fans have become aware of motivations behind some of their decisions over the years. Back in the day they were quite open in telling fans about saying they didn't feel a DVD was financialy feasible so it wouldn't be too much of an intuitive leap for us to think they feel the same way now. Enrique told Johnjay and Rich that they Belfast show was being filmed for a possible DVD but none has materialised and the concert has appeared elsewhere since then supports that we wont get anytime soon. You are right in saying no one knows for sure but unless Enrique's situation changes soon I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
