Wow, where do I start?

My wife, Aida, has been a huge Enrique fan for a long time and when we got the chance to go see him a few years ago at the Gibson I saw why. His show was so good. I made sure to get some great seats the next time he was in town. I scored some floor seats at Staples for the Euphoria tour and again my wife and I had a blast. She did make mention that she wish we would have done the meet and greet, but was content on just being so close to him. So from that moment on I was determined to make her wish come true.

I joined the forums here and started reading stories of how fans have met him. I knew that my best chance would be if he were to be in concert again I'd have to buy the best ticket package. So when I heard that Enrique would be touring with JLO I was committed to going all out for tickets. When the tour dates were released I was shocked to see that they would be performing on the day of our five year anniversary at the Honda Center. It was a sign!

I was ready for the pre-sale and didn't mention it to my wife. I had read what was included in all the packages and was a little bummed that they made no mention of a meet and greet, but I just figured they'd add it in later. 10am hit that day and as I choose the Diamond Package and hit "Search". I was shocked when the next screen showed Section 103 Row 1 Seats 1-2, I thought to myself , "No way, front row?", luck was actually on my side.

I was going to keep it a secret but I eventually caved and let my wife know that we got great tickets to the concert, but I don't think she realized how good they really were. She was bummed to find out that there would be no meet and greet but said we would make the best of it because it was our anniversary.

What my wife didn't know was that I was still determined to make her wish come true so I tried everything I could to give her the opportunity to meet Enrique. I joined contest after contest trying my best to get backstage but nothing came about. I figured my luck was running out but thought "Hey, it was a good run."

Saturday afternoon rolled around and we were headed to the VIP pre show party and my wife kept saying "Maybe Enrique will be at the party." I felt bad responding "Maybe" because I knew he wouldn't be there. I can tell she was a little bummed when she finally realized it, but I told her lets go check out our seats. As we grabbed a drink and headed down to the floor my wife's face lit up when she saw how close we really were going to be for the show. I was content at that moment because I could see that she was happy, that's all I wanted.

As the show started I kept thinking to myself there is still once more chance left. I had been reading about how Enrique was bringing guys up on stage during the part where he usually has a drink with some fans. I figured if he brought me up there I would mention to him that it was our anniversary and he'd call my wife up.

As that moment came during the show I made sure to get Enrique's attention. He looked over and pointed at me and said "You, I want you to come up here." I jumped the guardrail quick and soon as I turned to my wife I could see she was jumping over too, dress and high heels, didn't matter. I was like "Fuck Yeah!" Security wasn't stopping her and she ran up to Enrique and gave him a hug and I was thinking "Shit, this is it! This is what I've been trying for!" As we sat there I was just enjoying seeing my wife excited. I was trying to snap some photos while we were up there so I wasn't really paying attention to everything that was going on. For those who don't know me, I love to document moments and I wasn't going to let this one slip by.

Enrique was conversing with us and I mentioned to him that tonight was our 5 year Anniversary (It was really hard to hear anything that was said on stage so forgive me if I miss anything) and he said that if he was to get married this would be his wedding song, and he broke into "Stand by Me." I thought "Oh Shit, this is the part I wasn't prepared for, he's going to have me sing, and I remembered how on friday I just read a discussion on here about fans weren't liking this part in the show because they paid to hear Enrique not other nobodies and I was about to be that nobody!…" before I could finish the thought he gave me the mic. I didn't know exactly where he was at in the song so I just started singing the chorus.  It only felt right to sing the song to my wife because if anyone would appreciate that moment it would be here. Later she said that I should have went down the catwalk because she would have spent more time next to Enrique. My bad honey.

Well my wife hasn't stopped talking and smiling about it. Next to my daughter being born this was probably the happiest I've seen my wife, thank you Enrique, you helped me out in a huge way.
