New single "Finally Found You" available on iTunes.
I heard that Enrique performed for gadhafi once. I was in the car with my mom, and I Like It came on the radio, and naturally I started jamming out. All of a sudden, my mom turns to look at me and says "Why are you listening to that? He is a bad man!" My mom can be a tad narrow-minded at times, but I thought she was talking about the water-skiing thing last year. Nope, she throws the "He performed for Gadhafi" zinger at me. Not to bring politics into the mix, but I don't really think that matters a whole bunch in the entertainment industry-Enrique is an ambassador, and I believe at the time that he would have performed there the US would still have had diplomatic ties???? I don't want to get political or anything.
Anyhow, after that rambling...
I can't find anything on it! Does anyone here know anything about this? It's been bugging me because I don't believe my mom lol!!!!!
Thanks a bunch!

In 2005 Enrique played a New Years Eve party at Nikki Beach in St Barths with some other celebrities in attendance. You can see photos of the event here.
A while after some media reported that it was a party that gadhafi's sons were there and it was possibly their party. Though as you see there's no evidence to show that it was their party or if they were even there.
Obviously with the protests hitting the news, a lot of media compiled lists of popular music acts which have performed for Gadhafi and Enrique was on some of them but not others. Most like Beyonce made a big deal about it and gave the amount of money they recieved as a fee to charity Enrique never commented on the matter and it blew over.
I tend to agree that entertainers are just that, they perform for anyone within reason. Enrique played the Democratic convention in 2000 but stated he played there simply because they asked him (though I do suspect he leans that way politcaly). Of course I also think being an entertainer means you have to preserve an image in front of a public which can be very judgemental. So when taking these private gigs I hope he considers what impact it may have on he rest of his career. It's not easy, it's like walking a tightrope but that's the biz he wants to be in.
