Both of the countries are good for tourism and shopping.. Depend on what do you need from vacations. Maybe you should check for different tours offers..to compare prices for everything and decide what is better..

Actually in both countries you can meet people who don't speak English.. Italians love to speak italian... French in French... usually stuff in hotels and airports speaks English..but in other places.. everything depend on luck.. If you go somewhere for the first time and not sure in your language it's better to book a tour in a good, big and reliable touragency in your city which have it's own representative (or tour-operator) in these countries. When you book a toor in such companies they provide guides who speaks your language.. and your excursion will be in your language, in such a way you can go to any place. You may also buy some books about Italy and France and read about the places of interest...  to decide what is more interesting for you... Some agencies may even offer you an excurional tours.. that includes for example South of France and North of Italy. But in this case everything will be quick and usually hotels included in the price are of 3*.. but you'll visit lots of good cities for a short period of time.

Traditionally in Italy there are more places to visit..probably because it's more acient or has less territory..so that their historical monuments can be found everywhere... Each big city is worth seeing there... Rome, Pisa, Florence, Milano, Venice...France.. Paris, Versaille, Nice, Cannes, Toulouse.. in both cases you won't be able to see all interesting places for one time.

Thank u Thank u Katty.Because of our jobs we can stay only 7days every where we want to go .

May be we will choose Italy..:):)

Very very tough choices..both places devine memories in my young mind..Bon voyages..sarah

We know its difficult to choose thats why we asked...:):)

OK LOL I will give opinion...I travelled more in France because I studied there and only a week or so in Italy...

Italy is next on my list, so my vote..the romance the beauty the history....just because i want to and all the popular movies and books on the wonder of it all...and mixed with Enrique concert ..wow!!

But I adore France...Ireland and Spain are huge on my list too and have not been..as well as Portugal..and in the US..i want to see a lot more of Florida..have only been to Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale briefly...

My daughter spent 2 years working in the UK - She travelled to other countries during holidays and breaks ect - She went to about half a dozen different countries including Ireland and Paris - She loved them all especially Ireland and Paris with the exception she had her camera stolen from her bag in Paris, otherwise she enjoyed Paris very much. Maybe make a 5 or 10 year plan - choose what one's interest you most right now and then plan for the others later ! Not much help I know ...lol

No no you helped us very much.We like all replies that have descriptions...:):)

Thank u
