New single "Finally Found You" available on iTunes.
Well, after seeing all those topics about what singer we want Enrique to sing with, I`m tired to see the same question posted again and again and again and to reply there the same, that I don`t want Enrique to sing with anyone that making more solos!!! Who`s also tired of these topics and prefers much more better Enrique singing alone?? Please leave a comment in this topic :) Isn`t Enrique much more better singing alone than making duets? I think so :P
Take care,

Obviously I need to be more clear....the recent "United States" releases have been club bangers, so I wasn't referring to Heartbeat, Cuando, and Ayer. No harm in wishing for a release of "Why Not Me", right? At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter to me what song they choose to release on the radio because I have all of his albums so I can listen to whatever I want (but I do love it when I hear him on the radio). He's got this loyal fan's support, so in my eyes, it's all good!!
Enrique....

Permalink Reply by Casey Jones on June 6, 2011 at 1:28pm I see things differently, no suprise there as I was a fan that campaigned for some high profile collaborations on Euphoria. While Enrique would likely never give up and Interscope seemed okay with keeping him 'till his contract ran out I don't think it'd be hyperbole to say Enrique career was very unhealthy and needed a strong shots in the arm.
While not a complete fix all his problems I think collaborations with big name acts are something that would go a fair way into fixing what was clearly broken by giving his extra boost. Something which has for a long time bothered me about Enrique's career is that he had been given some amazing opportunities which he has let slip by simply because his label didn't think it was "right".
Even overlooking some of the rumored collaborations from back in the old days on Insomniac he had a duet with the then biggest rapper of the moment who everything he featured on at the time was an instant hit, something that Enrique claimed he wanted to release but didn't. Rihanna claimed in a puff piece interview that she would like to record with Enrique, he was asked what he thought of this and he said he would love to record with her but didn't the label would let him. Then there's the Lady Gaga duet which didn't pan out. That'd three huge artists who wanted to collaborate with Enrique and he with them and yet...nothing. I can't help but think there is something wrong with that.
The irony is that on Euphoria I don't think any of the featured artists are a major draw for radio, other than maybe Usher and even then at the time they made that song he was a similar boat to Enrique. It really shows that these songs work great on their own regardless of what name is attached...at some point I would like to see Enrique stand completely on his own again in the mainstream but in the meantime I'm very glad Enrique is taking these opportunities.
Now speaking creatively Enrique doesn't need collaborations to work in the latin market but I think he has them because he genuinly believes they can come up with good work that they couldn't do apart. If you disagree I don't think it really matters, even most of his rap collaborations in both languages doesn't make much difference to to the quality of the song. When performing live he can cut Wisin y Yandel out of Lloro Por Ti just like he cuts Ludacris out of Tonight.
I would love it if he would release an English ballad that he sings by himself...it's been awhile since we've had one of those. Seems like all the releases this past year are all club bangers and I get that that is what is popular right now but why not go against the grain and put a beautiful song out there (not that I don't LOVE everything's he's got out right now, but I miss Enrique alone)...he's got so much loyal fan support, he could do anything!!
I don't think Heartbeat, Cuando Me Enamoro, No Me Digas Que No or Ayer are club bangers. But of course the style of the song isn't really the issue of this thread since his collaborations arn't exclusive to his overt dance pop tracks but since you've mentioned it I disagree with this as well.
Enrique begged for Takin' Back My Love to put on the Greatest Hits and even then Interscope chose the ballad Away as the first single and he really fought for I Like It. The past five or so years Enrique has acted as if some of the ballads weren't his preferred direction. Heck at times he's as good as said so but we've gotten them anyway, even when it's gone against the grain of what's popular. (presumebly because the label thought they would recreate the success of Hero)
Even from the perspective of a fan who likes most of his ballads we've had fifteen years of it. It's become frustrating to follow an artist in an endless loop that I'm glad of the change. I do worry that Enrique has swapped one musical rut for another but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt that isn't the case.
Also remember it isn't always about making a good product but a successful one. I do think a ballad might work in this respect but it'd have to be a "right" kind of ballad and released at the right time. i don't think Enrique's fanbase is big enough to ensure commercial success of a ballad right now...dare I say if he released one it would have to a collaboration with another popular singer ; )
