Have you seen the video's of the great and memorable moments in his career when Enrique took home his first Premio lo Nuestro Award and his first American Music Award? I'll share them below.
In his 17 years of successful career apart from giving seven sold-out world tours and achieving more number one hits on the Billboard lists than the deceased King of Pop Michael Jackson, Enrique has been flooded with trophees and recognitions. Although I worship him to death and he spend every moment I'm not at work on seeing video's of him and supporting him I keep forgetting the countless amount of Premios lo Nuestro awards, Premios Billboard Latino, Grammy's, World Music Awards and American Music Awards he has won for his talent and devotion to his career.
Let's go back in time to the 90's to remember his first Premio lo Nuestro award in 1996 - or to put it in a better way his first Premio lo Nuestro awards since he won in several categories - and first American Music Award for Favorite Latin Artist in January 1999.
Enrique takes home his first Premio lo Nuestro award, Miami, February 1996
A fundamental milestone in Enrique's early career is in February 1996, when he was awarded for the first time the prestigious Premio lo Nuestro award, which is the most prominent top award of Latin music and is handed out every year in Miami. In fact, in stead of one single trophee, he took home several awards in the categories Song of the Year (Canción del Año), Performance of the Year (Interpretación del Año), Newcomer of the Year (Artista Revelación del Año) and Album of the Year (Album del Año) for his first album which since the first day it came out has had an insane success all over the world.
Check out this great video in which Enrique collects his trophee to Song of the Year for Si tú te vas.
He's joined by one of his best friends Roberto Morales with whom he cocomposed five songs for his first album and one of them was Si tu te vas. Being deeply happy and hugging Roberto by the shoulder Enrique gives a wonderful speech in which he points out the meaning of his first single Si tú te vas and why he wrote it.
Enrique wins his first American Music Award, Los Angeles, January 11 1999
Finally Enrique has been given his first American Music Award to Favorite Latin Artist. Allthough I think the trophee should have gone to him much earlier given his exceptional talent and huge commitment and passion for his career.
Watch this fundamental moment in Enrique's career when a bit overwhelmed by his emotions Enrique recognises that he didn't expect to win the American Music Award performing in Spanish (“I never thought I would win an American Music Award for singing in Spanish”) and thanks his public for their continued support.
Have you seen Enrique's stunning performance on the Mexican tv show Siempre en Domingo in Mexico City (January 1997)? It's one of the most impacting and most unforgettable shows of his early career! For those who didn't see his amazing concert on Siempre en Domingo go to this publication of mine on the forum for the video's and comments.
LAST FRIDAY ENRIQUE BEAT THE RECORD OF MOST SUCCESSFUL SHOW IN THE TWELVE YEARS OF HISTORY OF THE MAWAZINE FESTIVAL IN RABAT. MORE THAN 120 000 PEOPLE WENT TO SEE HIM AND TO ENJOY HIS MUSIC AND GREAT LIVE PERFORMANCE.
The spectacular success Enrique had last Friday (May 31) at the International Mawazine Festival in Rabat (Morocco) had never been seen before in the twelve years of history of the famed music gathering. More than 120 000 people came together to see him, which allowed Enrique to beat the record of largest audience in the history of the festival. In deed more than 120 000 people crowded the International Scene OLM Souissi to enjoy his talent and drive, to get crazy with his exquisite show and to have a marvellous time singing and dancing with him. Never before did any artist attract such a huge audience, not even Rihanna nor David Guetta were able to reach the mind-boggling attendance of 120 000 people, in which Enrique did succeed thanks to the excellent quality and attractiveness of his show, his huge ability to sweep his public away and of course his gripping and touching music.
Congratulations, Enrique! I feel so glad over the amazing success you and your show have had in Rabat and the deep everlasting impact your music left on the Moroccan people. I'm so proud of being your fan.
