ENRIQUE IGLESIAS TAKES HOME SIX LATIN BILLBOARD AWARDS!
Last night at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables, Enrique Iglesias via live broadcast from Minsk, took the Latin Billboards by storm upon receiving SIX awards.
Running up against artists like Mana, Luis Fonsi, Juanes, Aventura and Vicente Fernandez, Enrique kept his place as one of the most awarded Latin artists winning six of his ten nominations in the categories; Latin Pop Airplay Song of the Year, Male; for “Donde Estan Corazon?”; Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Latin Album of the Year; Top Latin Album of the Year, Male and Latin Pop Album of the Year, Solo among others. Enrique took a break from his rehearsal at the Sports Palace in Minsk, Belarus for a historic acceptance speech and a live telecast sneak peak of one of his European tour performances.
Singing a special acoustic version of “Lloro Por Ti”, Enrique had the audience captivated by not just his voice but by the energy he transmitted in the early morning hours of Minsk. “We risked a lot doing it from a remote location, but we are so happy that it worked out thanks to the technology that every day gets more advanced. Thanks to Billboard and Telemundo for this opportunity. I really would have loved to be there with everyone, and much congratulations to all my colleagues who won as well. There is nothing better than making music, it’s the only thing I know how to do…the songs on 95/08 definitely connected with a new audience and that motivates me to want to do more and get better each day. Thank you!” said the winner of a previous Special Acknowledgement Award by Billboard Magazine, two Grammys and five AMA’s among others.
Today, at the ABC Sports Palace in Minsk, Enrique kicks off the first show of his most awaited, sold-out European tour. Traveling with his band and crew of 40 people plus seven production trucks and several tons of equipment, the tour takes Enrique to countries such as France, Belgium, Denmark and the United Kingdom. This tour is part of a brand new production that will continue on to places including India and Monaco for the remainder of the summer.
Enrique keeps on filling the ears and hearts of millions around the world without signs of stopping as he finished a successful series of concerts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, and will continue on to the western hemisphere for the second time this year.
