both girls have been taking spanish since kindergarten, and last year andi had to give her reports for her spanish class in that language, some were written and some were oral, grammar, pronunciation, all that stuff is counted. the instructor has online courses for them to practice on, too, i'm really glad, especially considering that we have such a large spanish community here, many of who don't speak english at all, tho most do. one of the girls in andi's class's parents were born in mexico, & the mom, who is a sweetheart, told me at a school function that people give her crap cuz she has broken english. that is so damned rude! - actually, lots of the kids in her school are spanish, and some of the parents speak no english at all, that would be a hard thing to deal with, living somewhere and not speaking the predominant language - so if anyone gives you a hard time because your english is not perfect, just figure they're an idiot and do not let it bother you.

no way, no how, should you ever, ever apologize for not having perfect english. no way, no how. it may not be perfect but it's darn good. there are many people on this board who do speak more than one language, but in day to day life there aren't that many who can. you have absolutely nothing to apologize for, i think your english is fab. i only wish that i could speak more than one language!
my girls are learning to speak spanish in school, i'm so glad they'll have that knowledge.
